With the expansion of the construction industry, high-rise buildings are becoming more common, and various reinforcement methods are used in the associated engineering projects. Among them, steel plate reinforcement is a widely used technique, which involves the use of steel plate adhesive. What are the details to be aware of when using it?
1. Cleaning and reinforcing the surface is a must, non-negotiable. It requires sanding to remove the protective layer and apply a new one. Use an air compressor or other cleaning tools to blow off the dust. Then wipe it down again; if it's quite humid, you can also dry it using artificial heating.
2. Next, the steel plate must be thoroughly cleaned. There are various methods to clean it. You can use sandblasting or a wire brush for abrasion, ensuring the direction of abrasion aligns with the steel. Continue the process until the entire steel plate shows a metallic luster, and it's done.
3. Then extract the materials in the corresponding proportions. Generally, the ratio of Material A to Material B is controlled at 3:1. After thorough mixing of the two materials, apply them to the surface of the steel plate. The thickness should be kept under 3mm, ensuring the center is thicker than the sides.
4. After the steel plate is properly adhered to the pre-planned location, gently tap the bonding surface with a hammer to listen for hollow sounds. If there is no sound, it indicates a secure bond; if there is, it suggests the hole might be larger, and the bond is not good. In this case, remove the steel plate and reapply adhesive, then re-adhere the plate.
