The Energy-related Products Ecodesign Directive (2009/125/EC) replaced the previous EuP 2005/32/EC Directive in November 2009 and came into effect upon EU approval. Compliance with this directive will be achieved through the introduction of so-called implementation benchmarks, which include low energy efficiency performance standards and other mechanisms. The implementation guidelines for various products began to take effect between 2008 and 2009.
When ensuring compliance with this directive, the current CE compliance marking requirements should be considered. The scope of the ErP directive includes: design, manufacturing, distribution, use, recycling and reuse, as well as thermal recovery, disposal, and the respective enforcement measures.

EC 642/2009 Television Set
The current product scope includes: Public street lighting, power supplies, and battery chargers were implemented starting in 2008; office lighting, computers, televisions, household refrigerators, washing machines, motors, and home lighting were implemented in 2009; and vacuum cleaners, set-top boxes, and dryers were implemented in 2010.
As of September 1, 2013, the phase of implementing the ERP EU/1194/2012 is in effect, which specifies specific energy efficiency requirements for directional and non-directional LED bulbs, as well as directional bulbs of other light sources, including: luminous efficiency, power factor, lamp life, lumen maintenance rate, startup time, and rise time, etc.
