Rapid Temperature Change Test - Project Introduction
The rapid temperature change test is used to determine the adaptability of products to storage, transportation, and use in climates with rapid changes between high and low temperatures. The testing process typically consists of a cycle from ambient temperature to low temperature, low temperature hold, high temperature, high temperature hold, back to ambient temperature. It verifies the changes in functional characteristics of the sample after exposure to temperature changes or a continuous temperature change environment, or the operational functionality within such an environment.
Rapid temperature change tests are typically defined as a temperature change rate of ≥3℃/min, transitioning between high and low temperatures. The faster the temperature change rate, the broader the range of high/low temperatures, and the longer the test, the more stringent it is. Temperature shock usually has a more severe impact on parts close to the surface of the equipment. The further from the surface, the slower the temperature change and the less noticeable the impact. Transport boxes and packaging can also reduce the impact of temperature shock on enclosed equipment. Sudden temperature changes may temporarily or permanently affect the operation of the equipment.
Purpose of the Test
Evaluate the storage or operating adaptability of products under temperature change conditions. The purpose of the qualitative tests is to check whether the products meet the requirements of relevant standards; the improvement tests are primarily used to assess the durability and reliability adaptability of products under temperature variations.
Application Scope
Rapid thermal cycling tests are widely used in the fields of electronics and electricals, vehicles, medical equipment, instruments, petrochemicals, and more, covering complete machines, components, packaging, and materials.
