Air conditioners are one of the most widely used types in our daily lives. To ensure their proper operation, correct installation methods are essential. Therefore, today, ColdReach Electrical & Mechanical will introduce some of our air conditioning installation methods and steps for your understanding, making it easier for you to use your air conditioner in the future.

1. Select the air conditioner installation location, remove the back panel of the mounting plate from the indoor unit, and place the mounting plate on the pre-selected air conditioner installation site. Ensure it remains level and leave enough space from the ceiling and walls. Determine the positions for drilling the fixed wall plate holes; drill the fixed holes using a 6mm drill bit, insert plastic expansion tubes, and secure the mounting plate to the wall with self-tapping screws. There should be at least 4-6 fixed holes, and use a level to confirm the plate is level.

2. Drill holes according to the machine model and select the appropriate drill bit. Use an electric hammer or water drill to make the holes. Avoid drilling near wires or foreign objects inside and outside the wall, and steer clear of excessively hard walls. The inner side of the hole should be elevated by 0.5-1cm higher than the outer side for drainage purposes. The hole for the pipe to exit from the indoor unit side should be slightly lower than the bottom of the indoor unit. When using a water drill, cover the wall with a plastic sheet or use other methods to prevent water from splashing. When using an electric hammer, dust-free installation equipment should be used. After drilling the hole, insert the wall protection sleeve.

3. To install the connecting pipe, tear the insulation sleeve of the indoor unit's outlet pipe 10-15cm to facilitate connection. First, connect the low-pressure pipe, followed by the high-pressure pipe. Align the conical surface perpendicular to the bell mouth, then manually tighten the connecting nut to the bottom of the bolt, and finally, secure it by using two wrenches to tighten it.

4. Wrap the connected piping in the order of power lines and signal lines on top, connecting pipes in the middle, and water pipes on the bottom. Confirm the outlet position and connect the drain pipe. If the drain pipe is not long enough and needs to be extended, ensure the extended section of the drain pipe is covered with a protective tube, and the indoor section of the drain pipe joint should be sealed with universal glue. Water pipes must not be coiled at any position; when extending the pipes, use ethylene tape to secure 5-6 sections. In the case of horizontally pulling out the pipes, cover them with insulating material.

5. The indoor unit is hung, with the bundled pipes and connection lines passing through the wall penetration. It prevents damage to the bell mouth and the entry of mud and sand into the jointing pipe until the indoor unit can be properly hung. Ensure that the indoor unit's clips are securely engaged in the slot. When shaken, there should be no movement up, down, left, or right. Use a level to check if the indoor unit is level.

6. The fixed installation bracket should be secured using expansion bolts or long bolts. For walls that are too thin or insufficiently strong, long bolts should be used. The bolts must be fitted with anti-loosening washers to prevent potential loosening or falling. The fixed bolts should have a diameter of 10mm or more and be used in sets of 6 or more. After installation, the bracket should be able to bear a load 4 times the weight of a person and machine. The bracket should remain level. Secure the outdoor unit to the bracket with 10mm diameter bolts, passing them from top to bottom and adding anti-loosening washers. Check if the outdoor unit is level.

7. Remove the electrical box cover from the outdoor unit, and reconnect the power and signal cables according to the paired numbering in the indoor and outdoor unit wiring boxes.

Here is the method and step-by-step guide to air conditioner installation. We hope this information is helpful. Since our air conditioners consist of both outdoor and indoor units, it is essential to have a professional installer perform the installation to ensure proper use.
