Dry-type Transformer

Dry-type transformers are widely used in local lighting, high-rise buildings, airports, docks, CNC machinery and equipment, etc. In simple terms, a dry-type transformer refers to a transformer where the core and winding are not immersed in insulating oil.

Cooling methods include Natural Air Cooling (AN) and Forced Air Cooling (AF). During natural air cooling, the transformer can operate continuously at full rated capacity. With forced air cooling, the transformer's output capacity can be increased by 50%. Suitable for intermittent overload operation or emergency overload operation; however, due to the significant increase in load losses and impedance voltage during overload, it is not economically feasible to operate it continuously under overload for an extended period.
