Dry-type Transformer

Dry-type transformers are widely used in local lighting, high-rise buildings, airports, docks, and CNC machinery equipment. In simple terms, a dry-type transformer refers to a transformer where the core and winding are not immersed in insulating oil.

Cooling methods include Natural Air Cooling (AN) and Forced Air Cooling (AF). Under Natural Air Cooling, transformers can operate continuously at full rated capacity for extended periods. With Forced Air Cooling, the transformer's output capacity can be increased by 50%. Suitable for intermittent overload operation or emergency overload conditions; however, due to significant increases in load loss and impedance voltage during overload, it is not economically viable to run it continuously at overload for extended periods.
