Our current production and transmission devices predominantly employ semi-closed-loop control methods, with most system manufacturers integrating position encoders within the drive motor terminals, indirectly measuring the actual position or displacement of the actuating components.
An encoder is an optical position detection element. The encoder disk is directly mounted on the motor's rotating shaft to measure the shaft's rotational angle and speed changes, with its output signal being electrical pulses.
Encoders are categorized into contact and non-contact types. Contact encoders use brush outputs, where the brush contacts the conductive or insulated areas to indicate the code state as "1" or "0." Non-contact encoders have sensitive elements like photo-sensitive or magnetic-sensitive components. When using photo-sensitive elements, the code state is represented by the transparent and non-transparent areas.
Encoders are categorized based on their detection principle, including optical, magnetic, inductive, and capacitive types.
Encoders are categorized by measurement type, including linear encoders (such as glass scales and magnetic scales) and rotary encoders.
Encoders are categorized by their signal principle (including the method of graduation and signal output form), and they come in three types: incremental encoders, absolute encoders, and hybrid encoders.
Encoders are devices that convert analog or digital input signals into corresponding output signals. Their primary function is to transform input signals into recognizable, processable, and transmittable formats. Grating angle encoders specifically enable precise measurement and positioning, provide accurate feedback information, and ensure encrypted and secure data transmission.
Its primary purpose is to represent input signals in a readable or processable format for easy identification, transmission, or further processing. Encoders are commonly used in various fields, including communication, automation, audio and video processing, etc.
Working voltage, current consumption:
Working voltages typically include 10-30Vdc and 5Vdc ±10%, with voltage and current consumption determining the power of the power supply.
Signal Output:
Signal output includes sine wave (current or voltage), square wave (TTL, HTL), collector/emitter open (PNP, NPN), and multiple pulse output types. TTL is a long-line differential drive at 5V levels (symmetric A, A-; B, B-; Z, Z-), and HTL is push-pull 10V level (or push-pull) output. The signal receiving device interface of the encoder should match the encoder.
Signal Connection:
Encoder pulse signals are typically connected to counters, PLCs, and computers. Modules connected to PLCs and computers come in both low-speed and high-speed versions, with switch frequencies ranging from low to high.
For single-phase connection, used for single-direction counting and speed measurement.
A and B are interconnected for forward and reverse counting, direction detection, and speed measurement.
A, B, Z three-phase connection, for position measurement with reference position correction.
A, A-, B, B-, Z, Z- connections, featuring symmetrical negative signal connections, result in an electromagnetic field contribution from the current to the cable being 0, with reduced attenuation. Offered at competitive pricing for angle encoders, these connections offer excellent anti-interference capabilities and can transmit over greater distances.
For TTL encoders with symmetrical negative signal output, the supply angle encoder company offers signal transmission distances up to 150 meters.
For HTL encoders with symmetrical negative signal output, the signal transmission distance can reach up to 300 meters.
