Basic Knowledge About Twin-Screw Conical Blenders

The twin-screw cone mixer is a newly developed mixing equipment, primarily suitable for blending powdery or granular materials. It can rapidly cool down the materials after the heat mixing process, eliminating residual gases in the heat-mixed materials, facilitating storage, transportation, and subsequent processing. The principle of this machine involves the upward movement of materials by two asymmetric spiral blades rotating within the mixing barrel, while the arm rotates slowly. This allows materials outside the spirals to enter at varying degrees, resulting in a continuous update and diffusion of materials across the full circumference. The two streams of material lifted to the top converge into a central concave cavity, forming a downward flow that fills the bottom gap, creating a triple mixing effect through convection cycles. The machine is highly adaptable to mixed materials, does not overheat heat-sensitive materials, and does not crush or compress granular materials. It prevents segregation of materials with vastly different specific gravities and varying particle sizes. The conical barrel design meets high requirements for no residue in mixed materials. The twin-screw conical mixer is widely used in the chemical, dye, food, feed, building materials, and rare earth industries for mixing powders with powders (solid-liquid).

The equipment is driven by a motor and a harmonic drive reducer for both self-rotation and rotation. It employs an asymmetric twin-screw mixer, which allows for a wider material mixing range, more even blending, and faster mixing speeds. This is particularly suitable for mixing materials with significantly different densities. All parts in contact with the material are made of stainless steel. Powders rise from the cone bottom and flow upwards towards the outer surface of the spiral, where they are mixed. The downward flow of the granules is caused by the self-rotation of the spiral, which, combined with the spiral's circular motion within the mixer, creates four types of powder flow: convection, shearing, diffusion, and interdiffusion. As a result, the powder achieves uniform mixing quickly within the mixer. The twin-screw cone mixer eliminates failures caused by powder leakage from the bottom bearing, offering fast mixing speeds and consistent quality.
