Insulators are devices installed between conductors at different voltages or between conductors and grounded structures, capable of withstanding voltage and mechanical stress. There are numerous types of insulators with varied shapes. Although different types of insulators have significant differences in structure and appearance, they are all primarily composed of two main parts: the insulating component and the connecting hardware.

Insulators are special insulating controls that play a crucial role in overhead transmission lines. In earlier years, insulators were commonly used on utility poles. Over time, many disk-shaped insulators were hung at the ends of tall, high-voltage transmission towers to increase the creepage distance. Typically made of glass or ceramic, they are referred to as insulators. Insulators should not fail due to various mechanical and electrical stresses caused by changes in environmental and electrical load conditions, otherwise, they would not fulfill their significant function and would impair the usage and operational lifespan of the entire line.
