Water-Stop Steel PlateQuality Assurance Measures
1) Due to the primary occurrence of leakage points between the support piles and the side walls of the subway station, prior to the installation of drainage strips and drainage steel plates, an additional anti-seepage structure must be added at the contact points between the support piles and the outer wall. This involves diagonally inserting rebars and grouting waterproof mortar or fine-grained concrete with the same mixture ratio as the intended structure at the contact points. Proper pre-treatment of the leakage points should be conducted to alleviate the anti-seepage and drainage pressure in subsequent processes.
2) Installation of waterstop bars: During the construction process, the contact between the old and new structures is changed from a "T" shape to an "L" shape by aligning them, thereby extending the contact length between the old and new structures. This transforms the original two water-expanding waterstop bars into three to four, enhancing the functional reserve for water-sealing.
A reliable deburring process must be conducted where the old and new structures meet, ensuring the quality of bonding between the concrete materials of the old and new structures.
