Insulating joints are a general term for pipeline joints that require sealing properties, strength properties, and insulation properties against electrical corrosion for underground steel pipelines. They include components such as insulation plates, filler, sealing rings, and short pipes.

Steel rail insulating joint

A high-strength steel rail insulating joint, which features insulating pieces placed at the ends of the two steel rails being joined, with a槽-shaped insulating plate clamped on both sides of the joint. Two reinforced fish tail plates are installed in the grooves of the insulating plate, and then secured in place using high-strength bolts inserted into pre-drilled holes. One type of insulating plate is a mesh glass fabric槽-shaped insulating plate, with the first, third, fifth, and seventh layers coated with insulating adhesive, the second and sixth layers with mesh glass fabric, and the fourth layer with reinforced glass fabric; the other type is an electric heating element槽-shaped insulating plate, with the first, third, fifth, and seventh layers covered with insulating film, the second and sixth layers with glass fabric, and the fourth layer with perforated electric heating elements.
