Comprehensive Guide to Safety Precautions for Underwater Work

As we ceased the underwater recovery operation, the recovered object could not be secured, necessitating the halt of underwater cutting work. However, during underwater construction, sensitivity is low, and workers are particularly vulnerable to being struck while performing tasks, posing a safety risk. Therefore, underwater cutting staff must prioritize safety.

Pay close attention to the integrity of welding points before the underwater recovery team halts underwater cutting and assembly welding. It is crucial to ensure that the welds are solid and free of collapse risks before notifying the crew on the surface to release the equipment's lifting ropes. This ensures there are no issues during the underwater welding process. If a welding point is found to be less sturdy, take appropriate measures to ensure safety during underwater operations.

When the diving salvage team stops welding temporarily to lift the ear and the pull plate, they should pay attention to using materials with similar welding properties to those of the welded components. During the temporary halt in welding, they should also consider using the appropriate welding techniques to ensure quality. This way, during underwater cutting, there will be no risk of failure in the salvage process due to inadequate welding.

During underwater recovery operations, it is crucial for divers to allow ample space for themselves when stopping underwater cutting, especially when ceasing underwater vertical cuts or reverse-hand cutting. The divers must ensure they provide sufficient room for their own safety and must notify adjacent and subterranean recovery team members to clear the area before resuming cutting activities. This ensures the personal safety of underwater engineering personnel.
