Core Scanner Suitable for High Water Content Rock Cores and Drilling
The Itrax XRF FleXRay is a versatile, non-contact, non-destructive core scanner, suitable for scanning drilled cores, whole cores, and dispersed cores, as well as dispersed deposits in plates, linear, and U-shaped tubes, offering high-performance and rapid analysis.
Advanced XRF technology provides researchers with high-quality, reproducible experimental results; a high-resolution optical camera system offers RGB images for a good sample preview; and it can also meet the requirements for magnetic susceptibility and ultraviolet-visible function measurements. If you are interested in expanding the functionality of this instrument, please contact us and let us know your needs.
Element Measurement Range: Na-U
XRF requires only one scan to cover the entire range of elements between Na and U, providing accurate detection. The analysis operation takes just 0.2 seconds, saving a significant amount of total analysis time. For transition and heavy (metal) elements, XRF achieves higher sensitivity.
All detected elements in the sample can be simultaneously measured in a single scan, without the need to change voltages for repeated testing, while also ensuring sensitivity down to the PPM concentration level.
An advantage of the Itrax XRF FleXRay core scanner is its use of X-ray waveguide technology, which directs intense X-rays onto the sample's area of interest. Standard sample data can be pre-entered, enabling the detection of the concentration of each element being measured without the need to calibrate the instrument with the same type of standard sample.
XRF core scanning operation is straightforward
The contactless, non-destructive scanning analysis mode allows the Itrax XRF FleXRay to perform rapid analysis and obtain accurate data close to the sample surface. The built-in rangefinder (laser topography function) pre-determines changes in the sample surface's height positions, conveying the sample surface height information to the detector. This ensures that the detector maintains a consistent 8mm distance from the sample during operation, without touching the surface, and continuously scans at the same distance from the measurement point, thus guaranteeing data accuracy during the XRF measurement process, offering a significant advantage for cores with high water content. The software is intuitive, displaying optical information, sample surface height trends, XRF, color spectra, and magnetic susceptibility sensors simultaneously.
