1. Enhanced ecological compatibility. Due to the larger gaps in the gabion baskets, if used alone, they can easily create a dry and barren environment where plants cannot thrive. Therefore, to promote the rapid growth of plants, it is necessary to cover the gabion baskets with soil or fill the gaps, rather than passively waiting for silt deposition caused by flooding. By utilizing microorganisms and various organisms over an extended period, a loose and nutrient-rich topsoil is formed, aiming to achieve a natural cycle for perennial herbaceous plants.

2. Enhanced permeability. Retaining walls constructed with stacked stone blocks, due to the loose fill inside the mesh boxes and numerous pores, ensure ample water exchange and regulation between the riverbank and river body. They prevent flooding, regulate water levels, enhance the water body's self-purification capability, and facilitate the drainage of pore water in the soil after construction, thereby reducing the groundwater pressure behind the wall. Additionally, once surface water infiltrates the soil behind the impermeable wall, it can be quickly drained through the masonry, effectively lowering the groundwater level.

3. Enhanced shock resistance. Hexagonal wire mesh baskets are used for slope protection or retaining wall projects, boasting excellent overall structure. According to relevant tests, the shock resistance coefficient of the protective engineering using hexagonal wire mesh baskets is twice that of the general rubble protection engineering. Moreover, when the rubble revetment is impacted by water flow, once the stones are compressed and start to move, the soil on the embankment is eroded, leading to the damage of the entire protective project. In contrast, even if the boulders in the protective engineering with wire mesh pads shift, the deformed pad structure adjusts to a new balance, thus preventing overall damage and effectively protecting the embankment soil from being eroded.

4. Excellent wave resistance. Due to the gaps in the filled stones within the cage, when waves and wave crests crash, the spray is crushed, thereby reducing the impact of wave pressure. When waves and wave crests recede, the vacuum suction force of the waves is disrupted due to the gaps in the cage, further reducing the damage to the protective structure. Additionally, the entire structure can be fine-tuned under the action of waves, thus avoiding the drawback of wall cracks.

5. Excellent flexibility. The raw material for stone笼nets can be coated electro-galvanized low-carbon steel wire, which forms a grid with wires of certain strength, making them less prone to breakage. The overall strength of the box is high. Low-carbon steel wire has moderate deformation characteristics, allowing all components to be connected as a single unit without seams. Even if a wire breaks due to some reason, it does not compromise the integrity of the structure. Particularly when subjected to ground settlement or minor deformation of soil behind the wall, the structure can undergo self-adaptive micro-adjustments without forming settlement cracks due to uneven settling. The overall structure remains intact without damage.
