Construction Preparation

Before self-leveling cement installation, the base floor must be sanded down using a grinder to remove impurities, dust, and sand particles. Flatten any high spots on the floor. After sanding, sweep away the dust and thoroughly vacuum clean.

After cleaning the ground, a surface treatment agent must be applied before applying self-leveling cement. Dilute the treatment agent according to the manufacturer's instructions, and evenly spread it on the ground using a wool roller, first horizontally and then vertically. Ensure even coverage without gaps. Once the treatment agent is applied, wait for a specified period depending on the product's performance from different manufacturers, and then proceed with the application of the self-leveling cement.

The cement surface treatment agent enhances the bonding strength between self-leveling cement and the ground, preventing the delamination and cracking of self-leveling cement.

4. Recommend applying the ground treatment agent twice.

Surface Requirements

Basic cement floors must be clean, dry, and level. Specifically:

The cement mortar must not be hollow between the mortar and the ground.

2. The cement mortar surface must be free of sand particles; maintain the mortar surface clean.

The cement surface must be level, with a height difference of less than 4mm within a two-meter range.

The ground must be dry, with a moisture content measured by a testing instrument not exceeding 17 degrees.

The minimum compressive strength of the base cement shall not be less than 10 Mpa.

Above-Leveling

Be sure to have a large enough bucket, and add water strictly according to the water-cement ratio provided by the self-leveling manufacturer. Thoroughly mix the self-leveling compound with an electric mixer. For proper application, mix for 2 minutes, pause for 30 seconds, then continue mixing for another minute. No lumps or dry powder should be present. The mixed self-leveling cement should be in a fluid state.

Ensure the self-leveling mixture is used within half an hour. Pour the self-leveling cement onto the ground, then open it with a notched trowel to spread it across the desired thickness over various areas. After it naturally levels, roll it back and forth with a notched roller to release trapped air and prevent bubbles. Pay special attention to the smoothness of the joints in the self-leveling cement.

According to varying temperature, humidity, and ventilation conditions, self-leveling cement requires 8-24 hours to fully cure, and no further construction can be done before it does.

Polished to perfection

Self-leveling construction is inseparable from a grinder. After the self-leveling work is completed, the surface may still have small air holes, particles, and floating dust. There may also be height differences between doors and corridors, which all require the grinder for further refinements. After sanding, use a vacuum cleaner to remove the dust thoroughly.
