Generator Rental and Maintenance: Overheating Phenomenon and Fault Analysis

Ensure that the load current and voltage do not exceed the rated values.

Adjust the load to ensure the excitation current does not exceed the rated value.

(4) Locate short-circuit points, repair and replace coils.

(5) Remove obstructions, disassemble the motor, and thoroughly blow out all air channels.

Preparation for the generator rental and maintenance site:

(1) The maintenance area for electric generators should be isolated from the operating area. The site should be spacious, clean, and well-organized to facilitate safe and convenient inspections. There should be no contamination in the vicinity.

(2) The core inspection of generators should be conducted indoors as much as possible. The indoor environment should be kept dry and clean to prevent rain, snow, and dust from falling into the core. In case of necessity to inspect outdoors, extra attention must be paid to prevent dust and rain/snow from falling on the transformer. When inspecting transformers of 110kVA or more, temporary sheds or tents must be constructed or set up.

The exposure time of the core body to the air should not exceed the following specifications:

When the relative humidity of the air does not exceed 65%, it should not exceed 16 hours.

When the relative humidity of the air does not exceed 75%, it should not exceed 12 hours.

The calculation of the duration is as follows: For generators transported with oil, it begins from the moment the oil is released; for generators transported without oil, it starts from the moment the top cover is removed or any cover is opened, and continues until the oil injection begins or both the large cover and the orifice plate are sealed.
