Eco-friendly paint booths, as the name implies, are different from traditional painting methods where paint is applied outdoors using spray guns to objects like cars and furniture. However, this approach can degrade the quality of the paint job on large objects, such as mixing airborne dust with the paint during application, leading to a decrease in paint quality. It also results in uncertain waste of paint and a very dirty painting area. Moreover, it can be harmful to workers, making the environment dirty and exposing them to large amounts of paint mist. Later, to confine the painting process, paint booths were developed—exhaust-type paint booths. In China, paint booths first emerged in the Chengdu area in the 1990s. The entire spray and bake room is a modular structure, featuring thermal insulation and spray-painted wall panels with a mother-child interlocking design, ensuring good sealing and thermal performance. The door is lined with aluminum alloy and features a central observation window for real-time monitoring of the room's interior. A work door is installed on the side for convenient access by staff. The stainless steel heat exchanger boasts high heat exchange efficiency and a long service life. Imported filter cotton and low-noise, high-airflow fans are used to ensure the perfection of the painting effect. The spray painting room provides: (1) a clean working environment; (2) thorough collection of paint mist. The configuration of the spray painting room can vary based on the size, shape, weight, and production schedule of the workpiece, including open and closed, continuous and intermittent, self-rotating or fixed, and single-sided or double-sided spraying options. In recent years, oil curtain spray painting rooms and lower spray painting rooms have been developed. The structure should include: air supply and filtration system, workpiece hanging (conveyor, self-rotating) device, water curtain system, water washing system, exhaust system, sink, lighting, and room body. The principle of paint mist recovery: Paint mist recovery can be divided into two parts: First, during the painting process, the paint mist collides with the water curtain, some of which dissolve and fall into the sink; second, the paint mist that has not dissolved in the water curtain enters the water washing room through the bottom gaps of the curtain panel, where it is thoroughly mixed with the mist from atomizing nozzles. After gas-liquid separation and sedimentation, it flows into the sink. Paint mist coagulants are added to the sink at regular intervals to form paint sludge.
