1. Pay attention to the effect of the pads. The gaskets between the various components of the static parts of the fire truck (such as end faces of joints, caps, casings, gaskets, enamel plates, etc.) serve as a leak-proof sealing function. If the materials, manufacturing quality, or installation does not comply with technical specifications, it will not provide sealing or prevent leaks, and may even cause issues. For instance, with oil pans or valve covers, due to the large contact area, it is difficult to tighten them properly, leading to oil leaks. During disassembly and assembly, ensure correct placement, inspect carefully, and assemble according to specifications.
2. Various nuts and bolts on fire trucks should be tightened to the correct torque specifications. If the washers are too loose or not properly compressed, leaks can occur; if they are too tight, the metal around the bolt holes can expand or the threads can slip, leading to oil leakage. Additionally, if the oil drain plug on the oil pan is not tightened or loosened properly, it can easily cause oil loss, resulting in machine damage incidents.
3. Replace faulty oil seals promptly. Many moving parts on fire trucks (such as oil seals and O-rings) can become dislodged due to improper installation, misalignment, and deflection between the shaft collar and the oil seal edge. If used for an extended period, some oil seals may lose their elasticity due to rubber aging. If leakage is detected, they should be updated immediately.
4. Overuse of fire truck parts (such as pistons, cylinders, etc.) leads to wear, causing high-pressure gases in the combustion chamber to flow into the crankcase, forcing oil leakage. Therefore, when there is severe exhaust gas backflow at the oil filler cap, it is advisable to repair or replace the worn parts as soon as possible.
5. Prevent blockages in check valves and exhaust valves. Consequently, the oil tank shell temperature rises, oil and gas fill the entire space, and cannot be expelled through the channels. This adds pressure within the oil tank shell, increases the consumption of lubricating oil, and shortens the replacement cycle. After the engine ventilation system is blocked, the piston's movement resistance increases, leading to higher fuel consumption. Due to the pressure difference between the inside and outside of the tank shell, it often causes oil leakage at thin sealing points. Therefore, it is essential to regularly inspect, clear, and clean the vehicle.
6. Address various sealing issues with oil pipe connectors. Vehicle union nuts are frequently disassembled due to thread stripping cracks, causing simple loosening; the precision of the flange ends of the two connectors is poor, with the center lines of the two cones not aligning, resulting in poor contact; different but inconsistent taper can lead to oil leakage. Replace the union nuts, grind the conical seals, then tighten the nuts and treat the seal.
7. Prevent hub oil leakage. Excessive hub bearing lubricant or poor oil packaging and poor quality, aging and failure; frequent braking causes excessive hub temperature; loose axle nut leads to hub oil spilling. Therefore, choose to clear通气holes, strictly select accessories, and assemble and operate at high speed according to the process specifications.
