Fire trucks should refer to their normal usage frequency and travel distance to determine the charging frequency. When in normal operation, if the battery gauge shows both the red and yellow lights, it is time to charge. If only the red light is on, the truck should continue working but should charge immediately to prevent over-discharge of the battery, which can severely shorten its lifespan. Charge again after a shorter period of operation and avoid extended charging times.Overcharging can lead to battery overheating. Overcharging, over-discharging, and insufficient charging all shorten the battery's lifespan. Generally, the uniform charging time for a battery is about 10 hours. If the battery temperature exceeds 65°C during the charging process, continuous charging should be maintained. Prevent the patrol vehicle from being exposed to direct sunlight. High-temperature environments can increase the internal pressure of the battery, causing it to lose water.Battery activity decline can accelerate plate aging. To prevent overheating during charging, ensure that the 220V power plug or charger output plug on the patrol vehicle is not loose or that the contact surface is oxidized. These issues can lead to plug overheating, which, if prolonged, may cause short circuits or poor contact, damaging the charger and battery, resulting in unnecessary losses. Therefore, when such conditions are detected, it is essential to promptly remove the oxide or replace the connector.
