R5478N184CJ-TR-FF is a single-cell lithium battery protection chip from Ricoh. It features overcharge detection at 3.65V, over-discharge detection at 2.5V, and over-discharge release at 3.0V. Overcurrent detection is at 0.2V. If using a 8205 MOSFET with a 25mΩ resistance, the overcurrent detection would be 0.2/0.025*2=4A. To increase the overcurrent, use a MOSFET with a lower resistance, such as the 8810, which has a resistance of only 12.5Ω, allowing for an overcurrent of 8A. Some MOSFETs have a resistance as low as 6mΩ, and two combined give 12mΩ, enabling an overcurrent of over 16A. With four MOSFETs, theoretically, a current of 32A can be achieved.
