During the rolling process, the steel billet must first be continuously and stably heated to a rolling temperature of 1050-1150°C in a heating furnace. The bottom roller ensures stable support for the billet, guaranteeing smooth and even conveyance. As the bottom roller's middle section is directly installed in the steel billet furnace, the gas temperature during production can reach about 1150°C, typically requiring the use of high-temperature alloy materials such as ZG45Cr28Ni48W5Si2. Since the support part of the bottom roller is directly installed inside the furnace, while the conical and bearing support sections are mounted inside the furnace wall and outside the forge furnace, respectively, there is a significant temperature gradient across different parts of the bottom roller. Therefore, the bottom roller is generally welded from a cylinder, cone, and shaft. To minimize burn damage to the inner surface of the cone, an insulating plate is designed on the inside of the cone. For the stable conveyance of high-temperature billets, it is required that the roller shafts do not deform and the outer roller rings are heat and wear-resistant.
