Introduction

A multi-effect evaporator is a type of evaporation equipment used in the concentration of solutions and water recovery processes in industries such as chemicals and food. It gradually evaporates and recovers water from the solution through multiple evaporation effects, thereby achieving the concentration effect.


Operating Principle

       The working principle of a multi-effect evaporator involves heating the solution to its boiling point and then introducing it into one of the effectors (also known as the first effect). In this effector, a portion of the solution's water evaporates, forming steam, while the non-evaporated concentrated liquid flows to the next effector. This steam then enters the next effector, continuing to evaporate more water. This process repeats in subsequent effectors until most of the solution's water has been evaporated. The key to the multi-effect evaporator lies in its use of the steam energy generated during the evaporation process, achieving energy recycling by transferring the steam from one effector to the next. This results in a lower energy consumption and higher efficiency for the multi-effect evaporator.
