Polyanionic cellulose (PAC), abbreviated as PAC, is a water-soluble cellulose ether derivative obtained by chemically modifying natural cellulose. It is an important water-soluble cellulose ether, available as a white or faintly yellow powder, odorless and non-toxic. It dissolves well in water, boasts excellent thermal stability and salt resistance, and has strong antibacterial properties. The mud fluid formulated with this product has good water loss reduction, inhibition, and high temperature resistance. It is widely used in oil drilling, particularly in saltwater wells and offshore oil drilling.
