Functions and Application Fields

The OBO FLD surge protector is a component for overvoltage protection used in engineering control systems, signal loop circuits, transmission line systems, and computer systems.

The surge protector in the VF series features a protection circuit with a voltage-sensitive resistor that ensures a very low protection level under the restricted discharge current of the FKA. This circuit includes a gas discharge tube and a zinc oxide varistor, monitored by a thermal fuse. In the event of aging or overload of the built-in surge protector components, the internal circuit breaker will immediately disconnect the circuit, and the green status indicator light will turn off. If the protection device is equipped with a remote signal alarm unit (FS) type, it will initiate a floating changeover contact.

Installation

The OBO FLD series surge protectors can be directly mounted on a 35mm standard rail with a clip. They can be connected to remote signal indicators via the provided plug-in connectors.
