The screen meshes commonly used in web offset printing include nylon mesh, polyester mesh, and stainless steel mesh.
Advantages and disadvantages as follows:
Nylon Mesh
Advantages: High elongation rate; low static electricity; excellent ink transparency; good resilience; high durability.
Flaws: Poor acid resistance.
Caution: Not suitable for high-precision products printing, not suitable for large-size products printing; after immersion (Or when printing with water-based inksThe product is easily stretched and loose.
Polyester yarn mesh, also known as polyester yarn netting:
Advantages: Chemical resistance;
Drawbacks: Low elongation; Low printability; Low ink permeability; prone to static electricity.
Caution: During the printing process with solvent-based inks, "stringing" may occur.
Stainless Steel Wire Mesh
Advantages: Low web elongation; high strength; good ink permeability; stable dimensional accuracy; strong resistance to water and chemicals.
Disadvantages: Limited elasticity; expensive pricing.
Caution: Stainless steel wire mesh cannot return to its original shape after being stretched.
Advantages of Screen Printing:
(1) No limitations on the size or shape of the printing material
General printing is limited to flat surfaces, but screen printing can be done not only on flat surfaces but also on shaped objects like spherical curved surfaces. Any object with a shape can be printed using screen printing.
(2) Soft layout with minimal printing pressure
The mesh is soft and elastic.
(3) Excellent ink layer coverage
Printing pure white on a completely black paper, with a strong sense of three-dimensionality.
(4) Suitable for various types of inks
(5) Strong photochromic stability
Maintains the luster of printed materials.Temperature and sunlight have no effect. This allows for the printing of self-adhesive labels without the need for additional processes such as lamination.
(6) Versatile Printing Methods
(7) Easy-to-use plate-making, affordable pricing, and user-friendly technology
Strong Adhesion
(9) Available for hand silk-screen printing or machine printing
