Four Factors Influencing the Performance of Photocatalytic Xenon Lamps:

Dissipation. The light socket has changed color due to insufficient heat dissipation. The light socket can tolerate a temperature of 230 degrees, and it will change color when the temperature reaches 300 degrees.

Common causes of excessive heat in lamp bases include four factors: poor electrical connections, insufficient heat dissipation of the bulb, incorrect rated power, and optical adjustment errors. Consequently, the countermeasures for maintaining photocatalytic xenon lamps are to inspect all electrical connections between the lamp and the projector, check the heat dissipation and system, and inspect the lamp regulator.

2. Incorrect magnetic arc stability. Incorrect magnetic arc stability indicates that the magnets are too far apart or the polarity is incorrect, and should be avoided as much as possible. The main manifestations of incorrect magnetic arc stability include asymmetric deformities above the anode, the shell above the anode turning white or black, and increasingly severe flickering.

3. An influx of circuit and current waves damages electrodes. An excessive influx of circuit and current waves is a primary cause of shortened lamp life, thus such occurrences should be prevented as much as possible.

4. The photocatalytic xenon lamp cannot be triggered. The inability to trigger the xenon lamp is usually related to the trigger voltage and open-circuit voltage. The rated current must be reached within 000.2ms after discharge; a low trigger voltage may cause the xenon lamp to fail to trigger.

Cautionary Notes for Xenon Lamps Used in Photocatalytic Applications:

The ignition position of the Xenon lamp can be vertical or horizontal. When ignited horizontally, the inclination angle should not exceed 40°. When ignited vertically, the anode is on top and the cathode is on the bottom. A horizontal ignition should have an attractive arc magnetic field in the horizontal direction of the lamp shell to stabilize the arc position and prevent the arc from floating upwards.

Do not soil the quartz bulb shell; keep it clean. Wipe it clean with an alcohol swab before use, then light it.

When connecting light bulbs, pay special attention to not connecting the positive and negative terminals; particularly the thick electrodes. The "+" terminal is the anode, while the fine electrode's "-" end is the cathode. If reversed for a few seconds, the cathode will burn out.

Due to the high current, the contact between the lamp head and socket must be secure, and the contact points must be clean during use.

5. Due to the high-pressure gas filled within the lights, collisions should be avoided during loading, unloading, and transportation, especially during installation. When in use, they should be placed under a well-ventilated cover to prevent explosions and intense light. Strong ultraviolet rays can cause skin and eye burns.

6. Xenon lamps must be used with a dedicated DC power supply and a trigger. The ripple factor of the DC power supply must not exceed 7%, and the working current during ignition should be within the specified range. Otherwise, it may affect the lamp's lifespan and even cause damage.
