Port cranes, as one type of port machinery, operators should inspect the switch buttons and wire rope limiters for any malfunctions before operation. If issues are found, they should be corrected promptly before use. After operation, all power switches must be turned off before disengaging. Operators must focus when lifting loads, keeping both hands on the control switches and ready to brake at any time. Avoid chatting or eating during lifting to prevent risks. When lifting any load, ensure a test lift, and the hook should be vertical. If imbalance is detected, adjust the hook immediately. Lifting diagonally is not permitted. Retest the lift to maintain stability of the load.
Crane operators must not exceed the load capacity for lifting, and no item should be lifted heavier than 500kg. Violation of operational procedures will result in severe penalties. When lifting objects, they should not be raised too high above ground, approximately half a person's height. If an object is dropped, care should be taken to avoid collisions and prevent passing over machine tools during lifting.
When hoisting any workpiece, pay close attention to the operation of the harbor crane at all times. Immediately stop and report the situation if there are abnormal noises or phenomena. Those who work while sick will be severely punished for violating operational procedures. It is forbidden to conduct any emergency repairs on harbor machinery; when not in use, the crane arm should be placed in a safe location.
After operation, the boom of the harbor crane should be retracted to all sections, placed on the front arm bracket, and hooked. The crane should turn the boom towards the front of the crane and lower the angle between 40° to 60°. All brakes should be securely fastened, and the control cabin should be closed and confirmed. Pull the leg control valve, retract the legs, insert the locking pin, secure the feet, and place the auxiliary tools such as wood blocks and ropes in the toolbox. Press the engine clutch pedal, remove the hydraulic pump, and then transfer or stop the engine operation.
