Application of Large Ozone Generators

One, Large ozone generators are primarily used in the wastewater industry. Ozone, being a strong oxidant, can be utilized for wastewater COD degradation, decolorization, enhancing biodegradability, sterilization, deodorization, and more.
Ozone is utilized in wastewater COD degradation, primarily relying on its strong oxidizing properties to oxidize and degrade the COD in wastewater. The application of ozone in wastewater COD degradation is mainly during the advanced treatment stage, where the addition of ozone is minimal and the cost is low.
Ozone is applied for advanced wastewater treatment to degrade COD, typically with a 1:1 dosage ratio. This means that to degrade 1 mg/L of COD, 1 mg/L of ozone is required. For instance, during the advanced treatment phase, if the COD level in wastewater is 600 mg/L and needs to be reduced to below 80 mg/L to meet discharge standards, at least 520 grams of COD must be degraded per ton of water. Ozone is utilized in wastewater COD degradation, primarily depending on ozone concentration for oxidation. Large-scale ozone generators are categorized into two types of gas sources: air-source and oxygen-source. The higher the ozone concentration, the stronger the oxidizing power, leading to more pronounced COD degradation effects.
1. Air-source ozone generators utilize high-voltage electrical discharge to ionize 21% of the oxygen in the air, producing ozone. Due to the lower oxygen concentration, the ozone concentration is also relatively low, with an air-source concentration of 15-35 mg/L. The low concentration is suitable for deodorization and sterilization purposes.
2. Our oxygen source ozone equipment utilizes air as raw material. After compression, drying, oxygen production, and filtration, a pair of molecular sieve oxygen generators are used. These generators isolate nitrogen from oxygen in the air using the molecular sieve principle, removing nitrogen and purifying oxygen to over 90%. Then, using 95% pure oxygen, we produce ozone with a concentration of 120-150 mg/L, which is 6-8 times higher than that of air sources. This high concentration ozone is highly oxidative and effectively used for wastewater COD degradation and decolorization, yielding very noticeable results.
