According to the official WeChat account "Voice of CAS," China's first megawatt-scale vanadium redox flow battery shared energy storage power station in a cold region, the Jilin Songyuan Qian'an Zhonghui Yuzi Energy Storage Power Station, has officially been put into operation.
The power station was jointly constructed and operated by the Jilin Provincial Power Company under the State Grid Corporation of China, with technical support provided by the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (hereinafter referred to as Dalian ICPC), and participation in construction by Dalian Rongke Energy Storage Technology Development Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Rongke Energy Storage).
The power station is located in Shuizizhen, Qian'an County, Songyuan City, Jilin Province, with an installed capacity of 100MW/400MWh and a total investment of 1.222 billion yuan. The station utilizes all-vanadium liquid flow battery energy storage technology, boasting high safety, long lifespan, extended peak regulation time, recyclable electrolyte, and environmental friendliness, making it highly promising for large-scale energy storage applications.
Upon completion, the project will provide ancillary storage capacity for 13 new energy power generation companies in Jilin Province. This not only resolves the companies' ancillary storage issues but also leverages the significant peak-shaving benefits of large-scale energy storage, alleviating the investment pressure on the companies for配套储能 construction. Calculations indicate that the power station is expected to absorb approximately 300 million kilowatt-hours of new energy electricity annually.
