On December 18th, at the Electric Vehicle Battery Swap Ecosystem Conference, Zeng Yujun, founder, chairman, and CEO of Ningde Times, stated that by 2030, battery swapping, home charging, and public charging stations will share the market equally.
Zeng Yuqun stated that the company will continue to advance the standardization of battery swapping, with the most critical aspect being the standardization of battery sizes. "Benchmarked against fuel stations, where there are 92 and 95 octane gasoline, chocolate battery swapping will also utilize two standard swapping blocks, which we name as the 20 and 25 swapping blocks. This will provide users with personalized power distribution services based on different battery capacities." Moreover, all new battery technologies from CATL in the future will be applied to the chocolate battery swapping system.
According to information, the battery swap block on the 20th is compatible with A0-class vehicles, featuring a 42kWh lithium iron phosphate version with a range of 400km; the ternary lithium version has a capacity of 52kWh and a range of 500km. The battery swap block on the 25th is designed for larger A-class and B-class vehicles, with a 56kWh lithium iron phosphate version offering a range of 500km; the ternary lithium battery boasts a capacity of 70kWh and a range of 600km.
Currently, automakers such as Chang'an Auto, GAC Group, FAW Hongqi, BAIC Group, and SAIC-GM Wuling have joined Ningde Times' "ChocoBattery Exchange Alliance."
