During the operation of the continuous casting machine, operators should pay attention to the following matters: timely maintenance of the crystallizer. Clean and descale to ensure the waterway is unobstructed; electrolytic copper must be clean before being introduced into the furnace, requiring preheating and drying in the furnace to remove moisture, etc. Electrolytic copper that does not comply with the process specifications and scrap copper rods are strictly prohibited from entering the furnace. Material addition should be balanced, with minimal and frequent additions to maintain stable furnace temperature and copper liquid level.


The copper coins or heavy smelting waste copper materials involved in the continuous casting machine must not float on the copper liquid surface and should be promptly hammered into the copper liquid. It is necessary to roast the charcoal before it is added to the furnace, and the charcoal cover must be tightly sealed, maintaining consistent thickness to prevent the copper liquid from absorbing oxygen and hydrogen from the air; 5. The slag removal and charcoal replacement must be carefully operated according to the process standards to prevent the copper liquid from being exposed to the air and breathing.



It is essential to regularly remove slag from the wall of the upcasting machine to prevent harmful substances from re-entering the copper melt; constant attention must be given to researching the quality of copper rods, the level of copper melt, the condition of charcoal cover, and changes in various process indicators. If an abnormality in the quality of the copper rod is detected, prompt measures must be taken to address it. In summary, the pores in oxygen-free copper rods are caused by the combing factor, and any oversight in any stage of production can result in the formation of pores.



Overall, ensuring an abundance in raw materials, processes, equipment, environment, and employee quality is crucial to reduce the occurrence of voids in copper rods. Therefore, the selection and classification handling before the rebatching of scrap copper wire on the continuous casting machine must strictly adhere to the "Scrap Copper Batching Process Quality Control Standards." This way, the quality of the oxygen-free copper rod produced by the company will gradually improve.
