The hydraulic downward-opening weir gate is used in pipelines, culverts, or channels. It serves the purposes of flushing, preventing backflow, and regulating flow. The equipment opens downward, not occupying the upper space, hence the name "downward-opening weir gate."

Structure and Working Principle:
The hydraulic downstream open weir gate system is mainly composed of weir gates, hydraulic systems, ultrasonic liquid level gauges, and control systems, and for easy maintenance in the future, a maintenance groove is usually provided in front and behind the weir gates.
The gate valve is driven and controlled by an actuating cylinder to lift or lower the gate plate. The actuating cylinder can be equipped with an automatic control system, allowing for unattended automatic control of the liquid-driven gate valve. Water from the upstream flows over the top of the gate plate. The gate plate can be raised or lowered as needed and can stop at any position to control the water distribution flow or adjust the upstream water level. It can perform multiple functions such as flushing, water level control, and flow control.
Ultrasonic level sensors detect water levels on both sides of the weir gate and convert them into electrical signals for the control system. The control system drives hydraulic cylinders on both sides of the weir gate, causing the weir plate to slide up and down within the guide slots. Rubber seals are installed on both sides and the bottom of the guide slots for sealing purposes (can be three or four-sided sealing). The hydraulic cylinders are equipped with position sensors, enabling precise control of the weir plate to stop at any position. In the event of a power outage, the system can control upstream water levels, flushing, and prevent backflow, among other functions.

The hydraulic downstream sliding weir gate utilizes a single-point weir plate rubber sealing water-tight design. The entire unit is composed of a hydraulic drive unit, hydraulic power unit, hydraulic cylinder, high-pressure pipes, weir gate plate, rubber sealing plate, control box, rainfall barrel, ultrasonic liquid level meter, and accessories. It is used for the opening and closing of the hydraulic downstream sliding weir gate.
The hydraulic sliding gate is mainly composed of the opening and closing mechanism, hydraulic actuators, opening and closing cylinders, hydraulic hoses, gate body, and water stop plates, etc.

Waterstop plates are made with stainless steel sheets as side panels, supported by steel pipes at the top and bottom. The inner side of the side panels is precision machined.
The door is constructed from stainless steel plates, with the top center and bottom sections each connected to the screw and base using hinge-type fittings.
The door is sealed with a rubber plate, secured to the bottom edge and side edges with clamping strips, ensuring no leakage when closed. The screw is made of round steel, with a trapezoidal thread that reaches a precision of 7e grade, ensuring a tight fit with the nut, providing sufficient strength and rigidity.
The closure device is hydraulically operated, featuring low noise, smooth operation, and a long service life.


The early liquid-powered downstream gate was merely a channel or river gate with simple water storage and drainage functions, its operation being merely opening and closing.
