Helical gear reducers are applied in various fields of our lives, typically used in transmission equipment requiring low speed and high torque. As the reducer industry continues to grow and expand, an increasing number of industries are utilizing reducers. But does the reducer's normal operation get affected by temperature? Let's explain this below.

1. The working temperature of insulating materials refers to the temperature of the hot spot in the winding insulation during the operation of the gear reducer within its designed service life. If the operating temperature exceeds the material's maximum working temperature for an extended period, the insulation will age more rapidly, significantly shortening its lifespan. Therefore, the temperature during operation is one of the main factors affecting the life of the gear reducer.

2. The temperature rise is the difference in temperature between the gear reducer and the environment, caused by the heat generated by the gear reducer. The temperature rise is an important indicator in the design and operation of gear reducers, indicating the degree of heat generation. During operation, if the temperature rise of the gear reducer suddenly increases, it indicates that the gear reducer is malfunctioning, or there is a blockage in the air duct, or the load is too heavy.

3. In operation, the core of a gear reducer in an alternating magnetic field will generate iron losses. Once the windings are energized, copper losses will occur, along with other scattered losses. These factors will cause the gear reducer's temperature to rise. On the other hand, the gear reducer will also dissipate heat. When the heat generated is equal to the heat dissipated, a state of balance is achieved, and the temperature no longer increases, remaining stable at a certain level. If the heat generation increases or heat dissipation decreases, the balance is disrupted, causing the temperature to continue rising and widening the temperature difference. This then necessitates increased heat dissipation, reaching a new balance at a higher temperature.

Gears and speed reducers can be affected by temperature during operation. Therefore, it is crucial to maintain a stable temperature when the gear reducer is in use. This ensures optimal performance of the gear reducer and extends its working life.
