Lithium bromide chillers use water as the refrigerant and lithium bromide as the absorbent in lithium bromide absorption refrigeration. Due to the high boiling point of the lithium bromide aqueous solution itself, it is extremely difficult to vaporize, so the vapor above the saturated lithium bromide solution can be considered pure water vapor. At a certain temperature, the saturated vapor pressure of the water vapor above the lithium bromide aqueous solution is less than that of pure water; and the higher the concentration, the smaller the saturated vapor pressure of the water vapor above the liquid surface.
So, under the same temperature conditions, the higher the concentration of the lithium bromide aqueous solution, the stronger its ability to absorb moisture. That's why lithium bromide is commonly used as the absorbent and water as the refrigerant.
The lithium bromide absorption refrigeration unit is mainly composed of several parts, including the generator, condenser, evaporator, absorber, heat exchanger, and circulating pump.
