Product Details

I. Definition

Coolers are a type of heat exchange equipment used for cooling fluids. They typically use water or air as the cooling agent to dissipate heat.

II. Scope of Application

Suitable for various conditions such as coolers, condensation, heating, evaporation, and waste heat recovery.

III. Categories

Tube-type cooler

Tubular coolerComposed of the external shell and the internal cooler body. Due to different structural designs, they are categorized into threaded pipe connections and flanged connections externally; into horizontal and vertical installations; into floating disc and floating head designs; into helical tube and finned tube structures for the cooler; and into various structures such as arch baffles, rectangular baffles, double weir baffles, and circular baffles for the baffle design, all selected based on specific conditions.

② Principle

The heat medium of the tube bundle cooler enters through the header on the cylinder, sequentially flows through each baffle channel, and twists to the header outlet. The cooling medium, however, utilizes a two-pass flow, where the cooling medium enters half of the cooler tubes via the inlet, then flows back through the return cover into the other half of the cooler tubes, reaching the other side of the water separator and the outlet pipe. During the two-pass flow, the cold medium absorbs the excess heat released by the heat medium and discharges it through the outlet, maintaining the working medium at the rated operating temperature.

2. Plate-type cooler

Plate-type coolers are a new type of heat exchange equipment featuring high heat transfer efficiency, compact structure, small land occupation, and easy installation. They can be conveniently combined into any flow form according to different process requirements. Therefore, they are widely used in various industrial fields such as petrochemicals, metallurgy, machinery, light industry, food, electricity, coating, heating, and recently, in the cooling water and pure water systems of the microelectronics industry.Ultra-pure Water SystemIt is also widely adopted in China.

3. Air-cooled cooler

Moreover, for equipment that needs to be moved frequently (such as construction machinery), it does not require water supply considerations, eliminating the need for disassembly and reassembly of the water circulation system, making it an increasingly popular environmentally friendly product.

Section 4: Installation Method

 Cooling unit installation methods are categorized as:Vertical Cold Oil SeparatorAndHorizontal Cold Oil CoolerThe vertical cooler features a compact installation area and easy installation. The horizontal cooler has the characteristics of lower pressure drop and strong resistance to water impact. Therefore, selecting the vertical or horizontal cooler correctly based on the specific requirements of the site, space height, and operational performance can better meet the needs of power generators and other equipment.

CoolerPressure TestUpon qualification, the equipment may be put into use, and all internal water should be drained before operation.

(2) Check if all drain and vent valves operate smoothly and are functional, as well as the positions of the switches. Verify that the pressure gauge and thermometer are fully installed.

(3) Inspect the foundation and support for stability, and ensure all bolts are fully engaged and securely tightened.

(4) When in use, first introduce cold flow, then hot flow.

(5) When using chilled or hot mediums, ensure the auxiliary line is clear first, then slowly open the outlet valve. After confirming there are no issues, open the inlet valve, and do so slowly to prevent pressure buildup. Pay attention to observing any changes in the equipment during the operation. After the cooler is in use, leakage may occur with changes in temperature and pressure, so it should be checked promptly.
