A Luohan bed is an ancient Han-style piece of furniture, considered a typical representative of ancient Chinese卧式 furniture. It has always been popular for its practicality. There are two types of Luohan beds: those with a waist and those without. The ones with a waist have wider, more curved midsections, commonly known as "Luohan belly," hence the name "Luohan bed." The name "Luohan bed" originates from its design, featuring a solemn face of a deity or Buddha on one side and the relaxed personality of an Arhat on the other. The Luohan bed can be used for a short nap as well as to entertain guests, embodying a style of hospitality. Its design lines are stable, grand, simple, and fluid, with a distinct personality. The legs of the Luohan bed, known as "banana legs," require a significant bend. The Ming-style Luohan bed features notched legs that give a soft yet firm feel. The Qing-style Luohan bed has similar legs but with more lively and exaggerated strength.
