Extruders can be categorized into right-angle heads and oblique-angle heads based on the angle between the nozzle material flow direction and the screw centerline.

Common Faults of Extruders and Their Solutions: Abnormal Noises

(1) If occurring within the reducer, it may be caused by bearing damage or poor lubrication, or could be due to gear wear, improper installation and adjustment, or不良meshing. Solutions include replacing the bearings, improving lubrication, changing gears, or adjusting the gear meshing.

(2) If the noise is a sharp scraping sound, consider the possibility of the cylinder position being off-center, which may cause the shaft end to scrape against the drive sleeve. This can be resolved by adjusting the cylinder.

If the cylinder is producing noise, it could be due to a bent screw scraping the cylinder wall or an excessively low set temperature causing excessive friction of solid particles. This can be addressed by straightening the screw or increasing the set temperature.
