The dredger primarily uses a suction pump for mud extraction, making the suction pump an essential component of the dredger. Particularly in cutter suction dredgers, they rely entirely on the suction pump to lift silt. Therefore, regular maintenance and care for the dredger's suction pump are crucial to ensure its higher efficiency during excavation operations.
Sewage Pump Lubrication
Sewer pumps operate by using lubricating oil to manufacture bearing components, which reduces friction between parts. Without the lubricant, the coefficient of friction increases, and in severe cases, it can lead to a seizing hazard. Therefore, it is essential to regularly apply lubricating oil to the sewer pump during routine use to ensure that all components function normally.
2. Corrosion Maintenance
Suction pumps often come into contact with sludge and water during operation. Over time, a large amount of sludge and water splashes onto the pump, leading to oxidation if not regularly maintained. Although the pump housing is coated with waterproof paint, prolonged use can cause varying degrees of paint flaking. Therefore, it is necessary to repaint the waterproof paint regularly and ensure proper waterproofing of the suction pump.
3. Replacement of the blades
Wings may experience varying degrees of wear after prolonged use, making regular inspections and maintenance crucial. Should severe wear be detected, new wings should be replaced immediately to ensure the mud pump operates effectively.
