What are the advantages of high-resolution coding machines?

High-resolution inkjet printers, also known as high-resolution coding machines or high-definition coding machines, have printheads similar to those used in office printers, both employing the DOD (Drop-on-Demand) method. These printheads are densely packed with small orifices, a feature that dictates the use of oil-based inks. Oil-based inks dry quickly only when applied to absorbent materials, such as uncoated paper or wood. When applied to non-absorbent materials like plastic or metal, the drying time of the ink is significantly longer.

The high-resolution inkjet printers offer a wider range of character heights, from 1.2mm to 17mm.

The printer supports digital dot matrix fonts (similar to dot matrix), but Chinese characters cannot be printed using dot matrix. It can print high-resolution fonts and even any font available on a computer. The printing speed is not affected by the font type or matrix, reaching up to 60m/min.

During operation, ink is sprayed on demand without recirculation, ensuring consistent ink concentration. No need for additives (solvents), resulting in lower running costs compared to CIJ systems.

Ink does not require recycling, and the ink supply system is well-sealed to prevent ink contamination. The ink is directly ejected with its own pressure, eliminating the need for a pressure pump or other equipment to provide pressure.

High-resolution inkjet printers have drawbacks, such as being unsuitable for uneven products, their nozzles tend to clog during use, requiring frequent ink squeezing, leading to waste. The ink never seems to run out completely, and the operation is cumbersome. Currently, high-resolution models are quickly disappearing from the market. While the advantage is their low price, the drawback is their high failure rate, prompting customers who have used high-resolution printers to opt for smaller character models on future purchases.
