PVC is a white powder with an amorphous structure, low branching degree, and a relative density of about 1.4. Its glass transition temperature ranges from 77 to 90°C, and it begins to decompose around 170°C [1]. It has poor stability to light and heat; above 100°C or after prolonged exposure to sunlight, it decomposes to produce HCl, further catalyzing its auto-decomposition, causing discoloration, and rapidly deteriorating its physical and mechanical properties. In practical applications, stabilizers must be added to enhance its stability against heat and light.
