Carbon fiber tape refers to a tape made of carbon fiber, commonly abbreviated as carbon tape. It is used for wrapping composite materials, enhancing composite materials via extrusion and stretching methods, heating elements, conductive materials, and semiconductor materials, among others.

A variety of specifications and types are available, with varying performance. They exhibit excellent heat resistance, semiconductor properties, electrical conductivity, and chemical resistance. The mechanical properties are related to the type of carbon fiber used and the weaving method.

Manufacturing primarily uses plain weaving, but due to the static electricity in the weaving process, it can be pre-treated with water or antistatic agents. Advanced composite materials use carbon fiber tapes, mainly unidirectional carbon fiber tapes and prepreg. The method involves unidirectional arrangement of carbon fibers, coated with resin. Some also use various unidirectional carbon fiber fabrics cut into narrow strips, or plain-woven carbon fiber tapes that are then gel-coated and compounded. The carbon fiber packing for sealing materials is made of carbon fiber rope, which is also a type of tape. Carbon fiber sleeves are another form of tape.
