Carbon fiber tape refers to a tape made of carbon fiber, commonly abbreviated as carbon tape. It is used for wrapping composite materials, reinforcing composite materials by extrusion and stretching, heating elements, conductive materials, and semiconductor materials, among others.

A variety of specifications and types are available, each with different performance. They exhibit excellent heat resistance, semiconductor properties, electrical conductivity, and chemical resistance. The mechanical properties are related to the type of carbon fiber used and the weaving method.

The manufacturing process mainly employs plain weave, but due to the high static electricity during weaving, it can be pre-treated with water or an antistatic agent. Advanced composite materials use carbon fiber strips, primarily unidirectional carbon fiber tapes and prepregs. The method involves unidirectional carbon fiber arrangement, resin coating, and also involves cutting various unidirectional carbon fiber fabrics into narrow strips or dipping and bonding plain weave carbon fiber strips. The carbon fiber rope used for sealing material gaskets is also a type of tape, as is the carbon fiber sleeve.
