Cooling pipes for pier foundations

The layout principles of the cooling tubes for foundation platforms, taking the cooling tube layout of the Shiwu Guest Special Line Project in Henan Province as an example:

1. The cooling water pipes are made of thin-walled steel tubes with a wall thickness of 2mm and a diameter of φ30mm. A 3.5m thick foundation platform is equipped with a two-layer water network vertically, with a horizontal spacing of 1.0m between the layers and a vertical spacing of 1m between the layers. The distance from the upper layer to the top of the foundation and from the lower layer to the bottom is both 1.25m. A 2.5m thick foundation platform has a single-layer water network vertically centered in it. The vertical inlets and outlets of each layer must be offset by 1.5m. The inlets and outlets must extend above the concrete surface by more than 1m, and the inlets of each layer must have a flow control valve and flow measurement equipment. Soft tube joints are used for the cooling water pipe connections.

2. Water pipes must be securely tied to the steel frame or upright reinforcing bars to prevent deformation of the pipes or joint disconnection during the concrete pouring process, which could lead to water blockage or leakage.

3. After the water pipeline installation is completed, connect the inlet and outlet pipe openings to the main water supply and return pipes, and the pump, for a water flow test. The requirement is for the pipes to be unobstructed and leak-free.
