Generally, the recycling price for scrap cables is usually calculated by weight. If they are all scrap cables of the same type, the price can also be calculated by the meter. Now, I'll reveal the method to you.

Cross-sectional area (sum of the cross-sectional area of each copper wire, e.g., for wire cable with 3×50+1×25, the total cross-sectional area of the copper conductor is: 3×50+1×25=175mm²) × 8.89 = copper weight per kilometer of cable. A point to note is that many times the waste cables we encounter are not up to standard, meaning the buyer loses out, so the actual copper content per meter of waste cable is less than the value calculated by this method. We can negotiate the price when selling.

For instance, if we have a 4×240 cable, its copper weight per meter would be 4×240×8.89/1000 = 8.5 kg. Subtracting the current scrap copper recycling price, we arrive at the price for recycling one meter of old cable. Further, subtracting approximately 5% for our processing costs, we obtain the actual recycling quote per meter of old cable.
