This is also why lithium bromide is commonly used as an absorbent and water as a refrigerant. The lithium bromide absorption refrigeration unit is mainly composed of several parts: generator, condenser, evaporator, absorber, heat exchanger, and circulating pump. During the operation of the lithium bromide absorption refrigeration unit, when the lithium bromide aqueous solution in the generator is heated by the heat medium water, the water in the solution continuously vaporizes; with the continuous vaporization of water, the concentration of the lithium bromide aqueous solution in the generator increases continuously and enters the absorber; the water vapor enters the condenser, is cooled by the cooling water in the condenser, and condenses into high-pressure, low-temperature liquid water; when the water in the condenser passes through the throttle valve into the evaporator, it rapidly expands and vaporizes, absorbing a large amount of heat from the refrigerant water in the evaporator during the vaporization process, thereby achieving the purpose of cooling and refrigeration; in this process, the low-temperature water vapor enters the absorber and is absorbed by the lithium bromide aqueous solution in the absorber, the concentration of the solution gradually decreases, and is then sent back to the generator by the circulating pump to complete the entire cycle. This cycle continues endlessly, continuously producing cold. Since the dilute lithium bromide solution in the absorber has been cooled and has a low temperature, in order to save the heat required to heat the dilute solution and improve the overall thermal efficiency of the unit, a heat exchanger is added to the system, allowing the high-temperature concentrated solution flowing out of the generator to exchange heat with the low-temperature dilute solution flowing out of the absorber, thereby increasing the temperature of the dilute solution entering the generator.
