A rotating compensator is a new type of compensator for thermal expansion in thermal pipelines. The construction of the rotating compensator mainly consists of components such as an integral sealing base, sealing cover, pipe reducers, friction-reducing alignment bearings, sealing materials, and a rotating cylinder. Installation on a thermal pipeline requires two or more sets to be assembled, forming a relative rotation to absorb the thermal displacement of the pipeline, thereby reducing the pipeline stress.
Advantages of the rotary compensator:
(1) Large compensation capacity, capable of being arranged based on natural terrain and pipeline strength; a large group of compensators can compensate for an 800m pipeline section.
(2) No blind flange force generated from medium pressure, the fixed bracket can be made very small, particularly suitable for large diameter pipelines.
(3) Excellent sealing performance, requires no maintenance for long-term operation.
(4) Significant investment savings.
(5) Easy design and calculation.
(6) Swivel compensators can be installed on steam and hot water buried pipelines, significantly reducing investment costs and enhancing operational safety.
Swivel compensators are typically installed in sets of 150-500m on pipelines (depending on natural terrain), and come in over a dozen installation styles, which can be determined based on the pipeline's direction. With the use of this type of compensator, the spacing between fixed supports is increased. To avoid pipeline deflection, additional guide supports should be appropriately added. For reducing friction resistance during pipeline operation, rolling supports should be installed on sliding supports.
