Application
Demisters are used to separate liquid droplets carried by gas in the tower to ensure mass transfer efficiency, reduce valuable material loss, and improve the operation of the compressor after the tower, lower moisture content, and extend the compressor's lifespan. They are generally installed at the top of the tower. They can effectively remove mist droplets of 3-5 micrometers. If a demister is installed between trays, it not only ensures the mass transfer efficiency of the trays but also reduces the spacing between the trays. Therefore, woven wire demisters are mainly used for gas-liquid separation. They can also be used for gas separation in air filters.

Operating Principle
When gas containing droplets rises at a certain speed through the mesh, due to the inertial action of the droplets rising, they collide with the fine wires of the mesh and adhere to the surface. The spreading of droplets on the fine wire surface and the gravitational sedimentation of droplets cause the droplets to form larger liquid droplets that flow along the fine wires to the junction point between two wires. The wettability of the fine wires, the surface tension of the liquid, and the capillary action of the fine wires cause the liquid droplets to grow larger until the accumulated droplet's gravitational force exceeds the combined force of the gas's upward force and the surface tension of the liquid, causing the droplet to separate from the fine wires and fall. After the gas passes through the mist eliminator, it is basically free of droplets. Separating droplets from the gas improves operating conditions, optimizes process parameters, reduces equipment corrosion, extends the service life of the equipment, increases throughput, and recovers valuable materials, protects the environment, and reduces atmospheric pollution. The structure is simple, the volume is small, the mist removal efficiency is high, the resistance is low, the weight is light, and installation, operation, and maintenance are convenient. The mesh mist eliminator achieves a collection efficiency of 98%-99.8% for droplets with a particle size of ≥3-5um, while the pressure drop of the gas through the mist eliminator is very small, only 250-500Pa, which is beneficial for improving the production efficiency of the equipment.
