Technological breakthrough in production process
AZM production involves several key technological breakthroughs: Firstly, it employs a continuous hot-dip galvanizing process using the reduction method, ensuring coating uniformity by controlling the speed of the steel strip immersion into the molten zinc bath (3-5m/s) and the temperature (460-480℃). Secondly, nitrogen gas jet technology is introduced to control coating thickness (100-180g/m) by adjusting the blowing pressure (0.5-1.2MPa). Lastly, a magnesium element process is developed, applying a pulsed electric field during the coating cooling stage to promote grain boundary diffusion of magnesium, aluminum, and zinc, forming a stable solid solution structure. The production line data from Hebei Iron and Steel Tangshan shows that the coating density of its AZM products is 8% lower than that of traditional galvanized steel plates, and the spreading area increases by 3% under the same weight, significantly enhancing material utilization. Currently, only a few companies master the nitrogen blowing process, which acts as a technological barrier to the industrialization of AZM.
