Study on the Adaptability of Galvanized Aluminum Zinc Plates in Extreme Climates
To verify the performance of aluminum-zinc coated sheets in extreme climates, researchers conducted field tests in the northern region (low temperature -60℃) and the Sahara Desert (high temperature 55℃). The results show that in low-temperature conditions, the toughness of the aluminum-zinc coated sheets remains good, with no cracking during bending tests; in high-temperature environments, the coating's oxide film remains stable without peeling or discoloration. Additionally, for environments with strong wind and sand, an anti-scratch type of aluminum-zinc coated sheet has been developed—by increasing the coating thickness (from 25μm to 40μm) and adding hard particles (such as Al₂O₃), its wear resistance is improved, meeting the long-term use requirements of photovoltaic power stations in desert areas. Currently, this technology has been widely applied in regions such as the Middle East and North Africa.
