Through-aisle racks, also known as drive-in racks or walk-in racks, are continuous, single-span racks without channel partitions. Pallets are stored one after another in a depth direction on the supporting guide tracks, making high-density storage possible. Goods are loaded and unloaded from the same side of the rack, with a first-in, first-out principle. Pallet trucks can easily access the middle of the rack for loading and unloading. Drive-in racks have relatively lower investment costs and are suitable for situations with larger horizontal dimensions, fewer varieties, more quantities, and predictable loading/unloading patterns, often used for storing large batches of similar goods. Due to their high storage density and efficient use of floor space, they are commonly used in high-cost storage spaces like cold storage facilities.
